Rare earth elements (REEs) play indispensable roles in various advanced technologies, from electronics to renewable energy. However, the heavy global REEs supply and environmental impact of traditional mining practices have spurred search for sustainable recovery methods. Polymeric materials emerged as promising candidates due their selective adsorption capabilities, versatility, scalability, regenerability. This paper provides an extensive overview polymeric recovery, including resins, polymer membranes, cross-linked networks, nanocomposite polymers. Each category is examined its advantages, challenges, notable developments. Furthermore, we highlight potential contribute eco-friendly efficient while acknowledging need address challenges such selectivity, stability, scalability. The research this field actively seeks innovative solutions reduce reliance on hazardous chemicals minimize waste generation. As demand continues rise, development technologies remains a critical area investigation, with collaboration between researchers industry experts driving progress evolving field.
